Effective March 1st, all of the shrimp used at Cactus Taqueria will be wild shrimp caught by independent fisherman from the waters of Southeastern Louisiana. They are caught using a sustainable method of harvest
called "skim netting". Much of what is sold as "wild Gulf shrimp" is caught by dredge-netting, which the Monterey Bay Aquarium says "can damage the sea floor by scraping the bottom and also often results in significant bycatch." And the flavor? Well, these are the best shrimp we've tasted and we think you'll agree.
Cactus Taqueria is a family-friendly Mexican restaurant in the
heart of Rockridge in North Oakland. We are dedicated to freshness
and sustainability while maintaining traditional flavors. Everything at Cactus Taqueria is made
from scratch with no artificial ingredients or fillers.
